Condemn the act of preventing Press Conference of MBT leader by Police Mr. A.K.Khan Commissioner of Police –Act democratically and impartially

Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee strongly condemns the undemocratic attitude of Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad that sabotaged the press conference of Majlis Bachao Tahreek Leader Mr Amjadullah Khan Khalid. MBT wanted to condemn the attacks on Muslim youths by Hindu Vahini and demand to provide ex-gratia and enquiry by NIA against Hindu Vahini. It is a matter of highly condemnable act of police attack on Mr Khalid and his arrest near the press club, Hyderguda. Police has prevented him to address the press conference against the atrocities on Muslims by Hindu Vahini. In a democratic country this type of police action is very much shameful thing to happen.

Civil Liberties slams this police action and appeals all the secular and democratic forces to condemn this highhanded and barbaric act of police, because today it has happened with Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid of MBT and tomorrow it may take place with anybody. This happened first time in Hyderabad city when a press conference was disturbed by the Police. Generally these types of acts are habits of Shiv Sena, Bajrangdal and RSS goons. But now the Hyderabad police is also fulfilling this responsibility of the terrorist organisations. With this it proves the fact that Hindutva has infringed in Hyderabad police as well.

It is very distressing to say that Mr. A.K.Khan, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad has got trapped in Hindutva; he has gone deaf, dumb and blind. Because of which he is unable to neither see nor recognize the terrorist acts of Hindu Vahini, nor the hatred speeches of Togadia and others. So, he is mum on these terror activities and favouring the Togadia’s speech by stating that the attacks are a simple act of crime. Civil Liberties believe that anyone who is secular and justice liked police officer cannot like the hatred speeches of Togadia. Neither they can stop the Muslims from explaining the attacks on them and deny them the appeal of justice. But Commissioner A.K.Khan has done even this. From past some time, Mr. A.K.Khan has become strict towards Muslims and soft towards Hindutva people. he might be behaving in this manner either under the pressure of Hindutva or to praise the ‘political bosses’, and also might be to prove that he is secular. However, by oppressing Muslims, curbing their democratic rights by adopting Hindutva tactics, he is crossing all the limits of oppression. By doing this he is actually killing the concept of justice and democracy.

Civil Liberties wants to remind A.K.Khan that it is a rule of nature that when the injustice increases, it will automatically collapse. Therefore, it is an appeal to the commissioner of police to come into realization, come out from the clutches of Hindutva, not to try praising Togadia; instead support justice and rights. Above all, uphold the rule of law in impartial manner. Whatever measures had been taken by him to suppress the democratic rights of Muslims and the rude behavior towards MBT leader Mr. Amjedullah Khan Khalid, and supported the hatred speeches of Togadia for these he should apologize to Muslims for all these.

Quote of the Day
Women are supposed to be very calm generally: but women feel just as men feel...they suffer from too rigid a restraint, too absolute a stagnation, precisely as men would suffer...It is thoughtless to condemn them, or laugh at them, if they seek to do more or learn more than custom has pronounced necessary for their sex.

Charlotte Bronte
(1816-1855)
